Day 1 – Melbourne to Apollo Bay

Join us as we take you on a luxurious and private tour around the Great Ocean Road, which is well-known for its magnificent coastal views and pristine rainforests. See every site that is not possible to see in a single day or even two days during this tour. We start our amazing trip from Anglesea, west of Melbourne, where our journey begins. We stop at Split Point Lighthouse and the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch for excellent photo opportunity throughout the beautiful Fairhaven to Lorne segment.

After our visit to Teddy’s Lookout and the magnificent Erskine Falls in Lorne, we have lunch. After that, we travel to Kennett River to see koalas in their native environment. After that, we go via the historic Otway National Park and have a beautiful stroll through Maits Rest to explore the forest. We are spending the night at the charming Apollo Bay, but the day is far from over.

Take an evening walk around Wildlife Wonders. Along the walk, your conservationist guide will reveal the mysteries of the bush, as well as the flora and creatures that live in the Otways. Each nature trip will be unique, including encounters with our lovely Australian creatures living freely in their natural habitat. It’s nearly probable that you’ll see koalas, but you could also encounter a potoroo, a bandicoot, and a variety of other beautiful Australian species that live at Wildlife Wonders.

Day 2 – Apollo Bay to Port Campbell

Our first destination in the morning is the Cape Otway Lighthouse, which is regarded the most significant and oldest surviving lighthouse on mainland Australia. This popular site along the Great Ocean Road is a must-see for all tourists.

The lighthouse, known as the ‘Beacon of Hope,’ was built in 1848 and stands 90 metres over the beautiful Bass Strait.

The devastating yet fascinating history of the shipwreck coast claimed hundreds of lives and resulted in the building of the Lightstation on the brink of the cliffs. Cape Otway was the first glimpse of land for many thousands of 19th-century migrants who spent months sailing to Australia from Europe, Asia, and North America.

The next stop is the Otway Fly. The 600-metre-long, 25-30-metre-high raised walkway offers outstanding views of the region’s vegetation and animals, from the rainforest floor to the treetops.

Don’t miss the 47-meter-tall Spiral Tower and the cantilever above Young’s Creek, which provides a genuinely exciting sensation as you gently swing with the rainforest canopy.

After lunch, we’ll go to the stunning Gibson’s Steps, where we’ll walk down a small path to the shore to get up close and personal with the towering cliffs and remnant stacks. Check into your Port Campbell lodging for the night, relax, and eat dinner. At sunset, when the crowds have dispersed, we will see one of the tour’s highlights, the famous 12 Apostles, a sight that will leave you in awe as you watch the stacks rise unstable from the powerful Southern Ocean.

Day 3 – Port Campbell to Melbourne

In the morning, additional incredible views await, including Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge, The Grotto, and the Bay of Islands. Seeing these fantastic locales with very few people around makes it much more delightful.

We next begin our journey inland, following a gourmet culinary route that will undoubtedly wow. Schultz Organic Dairy Schulz is a 50-year-old family farm with three generations dedicated to producing the most sustainable and pure dairy products imaginable.

The Timboon Railway Shed Distillery provides a distillery experience in a setting with a genuine sense of place’. Food and whisky to inspire, share, and nourish the traveller’s soul. The railway shed, which dates back to the 1800s, has been wonderfully restored while retaining many original elements.

Timboon Fine Ice Cream, founded in October 1999, has been producing their famous ice cream on their farm for the past 24 years. As a third-generation dairy farmer, Tim has a strong connection to the land. His grandpa was a progressive farmer who pioneered irrigation techniques in the 1940s, and his father was one of the district’s first farmers to milk ‘a cow to the acre’ in the 1970s. Adding value to their family dairy enterprise was the primary motivator for investigating and establishing the brand that became Timboon Fine Ice Cream.
