Day 1 – Melbourne to Beechworth:

Our adventure continues to the ancient village of Glenrowan, where we revisit the thrilling story of Australia’s most renowned criminal, Ned Kelly. As the sun sets, we arrive at the lovely Beechworth, the embodiment of elegance and North East Victoria’s best-preserved gold rush town. Enjoy the elegance of over 30 National Trust-listed buildings while wandering around lush green trees, shops, and renowned restaurants. Indulge in the famous food and wine scene, where autumn transforms the town into a kaleidoscope of golden yellows, rich reds, and brilliant oranges.
Our day ends with a visit to Beechworth Honey, a famous Australian honey company. Enjoy delectable honey tastes and learn about the art of honeymaking and beekeeping. Return to your beautiful lodgings, ready to recharge for the next exciting day of your incredible journey.
Day 2 – Bright, Mt Buffalo, and Myrtleford:
We begin our day in the charming village of Yackandandah, regarded as one of Australia’s most beautiful places. This lovely community set in the foothills of Stanley State Forest, protected by the National Trust, is steeped in gold rush history and has a thriving arts scene. Explore the beautiful streets that are filled with unique artworks, crafts, music, and antiques displayed in unique galleries, boutiques, and studios.
We continue on through the magnificent Kiewa Valley, which takes us to the charming town of Bright. Nestled between towering mountains and the banks of the Ovens River, Bright is a peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Experience thrilling Alpine experiences in the winter, take in the captivating deciduous tree colours in the fall, and return in the summer months for spectacular rail trails and demanding mountain biking routes, as well as fascinating bush walks and cycling routes.
Bright’s culinary scene is a foodie’s dream, with wonderful eateries that use only the best local ingredients. As a self-proclaimed gourmet, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to explore the township’s riverbank backdrop and choose the ideal spot for an outstanding meal. Experience award-winning eating at renowned restaurants like Tani Eat and Drink, Thirteen Steps, and Ginger Baker. Bright has a wide range of gastronomic options, from cosy cafes to “hatted” restaurants. Enjoy locally created chocolates, ales from the friendly Bright Brewery, or gin sampling at Reed & Co Distillery.
Following a delicious lunch, we head to Mount Buffalo, a place of stunning rock formations, steep cliff faces, huge granite towers, and pouring waterfalls. Bask in the splendour of the Gorge Day Visitor Area, where Bents Lookout and Echo Point provide breathtaking views of the 300-meter North Wall and neighbouring valleys. Admire the Mount Buffalo Chalet, often known as the “Grand Old Dame of Victoria’s Alpine Region.” While the structure is only available for guided visits on occasion, you may explore the terraced European Garden, which explodes with vibrant colours in the spring.
After visiting Mount Buffalo, we travel to Myrtleford, a town that effortlessly combines its historic heritage as a tobacco production hub with modern-day attractiveness. Indulge in a variety of culinary options, including Moroccan-inspired Cafe Fez, Indian-influenced Cafe Chakra, and Italian delicacies at Bastoni Pizzeria and Lupos. Enjoy a wine tasting and lunch experience at the legendary Brown Brothers winery. Delight your senses with a carefully crafted selection of their great wines, expertly coupled with a delicious meal. For those with an insatiable appetite, we recommend Dalzotto Winery, Pizzini Winery, or King Valley Cider. Day 4 – Cheshunt to Melbourne:
Wake up to a memorable morning as we continue your journey of the King Valley with a stop at Chrismont Cellar Door, Winery, and Larder. Immerse yourself in the world of exquisite wine, savouring the flavours and aromas that distinguish this prestigious winery. Enjoy the grandeur of the vineyard while enjoying an exceptional wine tasting experience.
As we say goodbye to the High Country and King Valley, we go on one of the state’s most scenic roads, the legendary Black Spur. This picturesque path meanders through thick Yarra Ranges woods, providing an incredible view of towering mountain ash trees reflecting dappled sunshine over the emerald understory of ferns underneath.
En route, we stop in the lovely hamlet of Marysville, where the spectacular Stevenson Falls awaits. Admire Victoria’s greatest waterfall, which will leave you in awe of nature’s beauty.
We make our final visit in Healesville, which is an hour away from Melbourne and home to the renowned Four Pillars Distillery. Enjoy a gin tasting at this renowned distillery, which was just named the world’s greatest gin producer. Enjoy the superb workmanship and flavours of their famous gins, and finish your voyage with a luxurious flourish.
